February 10, 2021
OZCast is an online, weekly variety show that features multidiscipline artists. As a project of CACHE (Creative Arkansas Community Hub & Exchange), artists locally, regionally, and nationally are recognized.
Audrey Romero was a featured artist on the shows first season, episode 14. As an actor in training at the University of Arkansas, she presented a monologue that was workshopped in her Shakespeare class. She performs in the alleyways of Emma Street in Springdale, Arkansas.
In this monologue, Audrey Romero performs Joan of Arc from Shakespeare’s classic “King Henry VI.” The setting is the Hundred Years' War. The English, led by Talbot, are fighting the French, led by Joan of Arc and King Charles. The English have won and have captured Joan of Arc who is put on trial. York decides to execute her. In this monologue Joan of Arc tells York about her noble origins and that she has been guided by God to perform miracles. She says her judges are corrupt and if she is executed, she will ask God to punish them.
